San Francisco Chronicle - Panthers wide receiver Steve Smith wants to be traded to either the Raiders or Chargers, according to Football News Now.

Smith, 32, told a league source that "he does not want to spend another year rebuilding at his age." He is from Lynwood, Calif. and wants to return to the West Coast.

The veteran has played all nine seasons of his NFL career with the Panthers.

Doesn't want another rebuilding year, yet he wants to go to Oakland???? Hmmmmmm

I understand where he is coming from, hopefully he can get on a better team.

If it's just out of those two teams, Chargers would be my bet. I've always liked him, especially the year when he and Chad had that back and forth TD celebrations. Trying to best each other. He's not as good as he used to be, but still could contribute. I don't blame him for not wanting to be there anymore. Hopefully he does get traded to a better team.

If Vincent Jackson isn't returning I could definitely see this happening, I think it'd be worth giving him a shot. He didn't have the support at Carolina in recent years.

Asking to go to the Raiders, but trying to win, and soon makes 0 sense to me.

The Chargers would make some sense if he can settle to take a little bit less cash to try and make a run with them.

Certainly fits the Al Davis mold

He's way better off with the Bolts though, name (or try and spell) a WR on the Chargers other than V-Jax lol

Panthers Likely Looking For 2nd Or 3rd Rounder For Smith

Pat Yasinskas/ESPN.com - If the Panthers are willing to trade disgruntled wide receiver Steve Smith, they'll likely ask for a second- or third-round pick in return.

Carolina has said that they won't just give the veteran away, but he has reportedly cleaned out his locker.

Steve Smith has always kind of had a meh attitude, and no doubt, it WOULD get frustrating playing for the Panthers.

Him cleaning his locker-out already is a tad bit much though..

Panthers will never get a 2nd or 3rd for him. A 4th, MAYBE.
