Claxton is "contemplating his next step" and hasn't made a decision about whether or not he will have the surgery that could help extend his NBA career, the Atlanta Journal-Constitution reported.
"This is something you have to think through before doing anything one way or the other," Claxton told the paper.
Claxton has not played a game this season and only appeared in 42 games last year. He received the recommendation for microfracture surgery from noted sports surgeon Dr. Richard Steadman, according to the Journal-Constitution.
