According to ESPN.com's Marc Stein and Ian Begley, the interim boss has emerged as "the preferred choice of team president Phil Jackson, whom sources say is pushing for a new multiyear deal for Rambis."
Jackson's reported interest in naming Rambis the team's full-time head coach makes sense based on the rapport the two share dating back to their days with the Los Angeles Lakers.
"Kurt and I have a relationship that goes back to 2001," Jackson said, per Stein and Begley. "He knows the ins and outs, what pleases me and [what] probably I want to have changed."

Should the Knicks part ways with Phil Jackson?
He has been a good GM but not with hiring coaches.
Forcing the triangle with the team, I think, would never work.
And we've all seen how bad Porzingis plays with Rambis.
