Josh Hamilton, who has battled drug and alcohol addictions, had a relapse with alcohol this week, according to a source.

The Rangers said through a team spokesman that they are "aware of a situation but have no further comment at this time."
Damn.

From what I've read, it sounds like he just went to a bar and had a few drinks -- but of course ESPN blows it up and makes it sound like he wont on some sorta 3 day bender.

Obviously we don't know all the facts but my guess is he had a minor relapse, similar to what he had not too long ago. He made a mistake and immediately informed the team about it, and they moved forward and did what they had to do. They'll do that again this time and I don't think this is going to affect him much.

And yes, I'm sure that fan dying is still troubling him at times.

Sucks to hear. Media should leave him alone. It's like they want the dude to fail.

Yeah, I'm interested to see what kind of drinking that he did.

Hopefully it's nothing major and the Rangers are able to get control of this. Media blows everything up though.

Had a few drinks, Kinsler came and hid the fact he drank, he drove him home, and then Josh went back out and had more drinks.

A few drinks to a recovering alcoholic is a lot different than a few drinks to me and you.

It's also not as easy to say no to a few drinks as it would be for us. Especially if that fan who died is on his mind.

He had a major addiction. A relapse here and there isn't a surprise. It's all about containing and making sure he's not doing what he was doing before.

I know, I wasn't denying that. Just stated what Josh said.

A recovering alcohol shouldn't have any drinks, because he can't stop at one.

I honestly don't think this is the first time he's drank since he's been clean but that's just me.

Let that dude drink more

I believe it's the second time. Well, it's only made it to media twice since he got clean.
