So do they plan on having an excellent fielder like Beltre DH?
Young will DH. He;s a below average fielder, Beltre is a top 5 defensive 3B.

No, my guess is they have Beltre at 3rd, move Michael Young to 1B, and then bring back Vlad to DH.

1. Elvis Andrus
2. Michael Young
3. Josh Hamilton
4. Vlad Guerrero
5. Adrian Beltre
6. Nelson Cruz
7. Ian Kinsler
8. Yorvit Torrealba
9. Julio Borbon/Engel Beltre

That lineup is not to be fucked with.
Vlad is an FA. Beltre isn't MLB ready. Put Cruz in Vlads spot, move Ian up to 6 and Moreland in at 7 and you got it.

To everyone... Moreland will be their starting 1B. He was fine there in the 50 or so games he played there last year. IDK the Rangers would put Young there.

It makes sense if Young is willing to move to DH. Otherwise, it doesn't make all that much sense. I feel they did this more to cover for losing out of Lee rather than taking care of a team need. We'll see how it works out.

I think they could move Young to LF, Cruz to RF, Vlad to DH (or don't sign him)...

OR, they could trade Andrus and maybe a minor league arm for some stud pitcher or some other deal involving Andrus for a stud.

that

was thinking they might make a move for a big name with some of their prospects, since they lost out on Lee.

why trade Andrus? You're better off trading Michael Young instead because you'd be saving on age.

Because if they want a big name, they aren't going to get him with Michael Young.

Speaking of big names maybe Shields or Garza if they're still on the block.

They're not going to trade Andrus for Shields or Garza. They'd likely only move him in a deal for King Felix. He's the only guy I could think of who would be worth it for the Rangers.

I was just assuming they were still going to pursue Vlad, but it doesn't look that way anymore.

And I remember reading something about Nolan Ryan talking about Engel Beltre in CF but I can't seem to find it, I didn't think he was ready but I just put him there because of what I remember reading.

Not saying they are gonna move Andrus for Shields or Garza. Just saying they're probably gonna have to move him if they want a a star ace.

I mentioned Shields and Garza because those are two of the guys, if available, they'd look to acquire.
