You're so blind to the fact that white-on-black racism still exists here. Were you under a fucking rock during the entire shitstorm that took place after the Martin verdict? Sure, theres no KKK running around lynching our people anymore, but that doesnt mean all is well in the world and theres no problem. I think its absurd that you cannot acknowledge the fact that white-on-black racism/discrimination/prejudice is very much still apart of society, and a lot of said racism has been fueled by the use of the n-word for decades centuries. Riley Cooper said what he said, and there's no need to justify or downplay it.

I only said that it's not as prevalent as it once was, which you cannot deny.

And even if I disagree with the Zimmerman verdict, it was the right verdict.

Well, we don't. We don't absolutely know that he's said it more than this one time. He probably has, I'll give you that, but we don't know.

In no sense am I being naive. You just disagree with me on a touchy subject. All I've said is that Cooper doesn't deserve what he's dealing with, and that racism isn't as prevalent as it once was. There's nothing wrong with either point of view, whatsoever.

its not as prevalent because we dont hear of lynching but there is the same, if not more discrimination of all kinds, including race. i welcome you to come to detroit with this attitude and see how well it goes, and im not even talking about the blacks because the white people would whoop your ass.

People think there's racism and discrimination all over the place because people are incredibly sensitive. Most work place "discrimination" is just an employer recognizing their better employees. In my experience--regardless of race--most of the time the kinds of employees who whine about discrimination are poor workers.

In the work world, not every employee was created equal. And hey, this just covers the work force, I know, but who says that's the only place that it's mostly bullshit accusations?

A lot of this perceived "discrimination" is mostly smoke without fire.

Says the white guy who lives in North Dakota

Look, I don't mean for that to be a personal attack, but you aren't exactly the best person to understand it. Most "bullshit accusations" are just the small forms of discrimination that a lot of society plays off or justifies. It doesn't have to be some full fledged hate crime or clan meeting to be discrimination. Discrimination still exists in smaller forms. That doesn't mean someone who tends to play the race card for everything has a reason for it.

We can just agree to disagree. Race is a touchy subject for some people, and a lot of others just prefer not to really acknowledge it. Riley Cooper's statement was wrong and he should be penalized for it, as he has been. I am an african american, and I will say I don't quite agree with the amount of flak he still receives when a lot of blacks still go around using the n word in their every day vocabulary. "A" at the end or not, its just ignorant, and I don't get how we can ever expect to be treated as equals while we seek special treatment and continue to enforce these cultural double standards. Just my two cents

There's enough where I've worked with plenty and made friends with a few. However, only one has been a truly awful worker, and the other awful workers I've seen first hand were mostly white people with absolutely no work ethic, who complained about discrimination against weight or something or another.

I didn't mean for it to come off as other races complaining about discrimination in my experience, because most of the black coworkers I've had were very good. I just meant workers in general.
