J.R. Smith of the Denver Nuggets has been selected to replace injured Rudy Gay (left hip flexor strain) of the Memphis Grizzlies in the 2009 Sprite Slam Dunk contest to be held on Saturday, Feb. 16 at US Airways Center in Phoenix. Smith previously participated in the 2005 Sprite Slam Dunk contest.
You would think whoever came in 2nd in the voting would replace him.. But this will be fine.
Now I think Dwight could run-away with this, even though JR should put on a show.

I'm gonna laugh if Rudy ends up busting out some crazy moves and winning, or at least getting everyone to change their mind just because everyone is saying that he shouldn't be there.

Joe Alexander >>>>>>>>>> Rudy Fernandez

Rudy's only there because he's Euro. They didnt hesitate to say that he's the first international player to be in the contest > _>

Rudy F is an ally-oop in game dunker, Joe Alexander actually has pure dunking skills. Joe can pull down between the leg 360 like nothing.

Too bad J-Smoove turned it down. He was robbed in 05 but this year I think it'll be between Nate and Dwight.
