If healthy I think 4th seed is best case, can't see them above SA, OKC, or LAC. Not sure how reasonable that is though.

I think Eric Gordon is the real wildcard here. By all accounts this is the first healthy offseason he has had in a long time, he's dropped some weight and has regained some of the explosion he had in LA. If he can even be 85% of what he was in LA I think this team could be really good.

Holiday - Rivers
Gordon
Reke - Salmons
Davis - Anderson
Asik

That's a good rotation with a little of everything.

The Mavericks are only too high if they don't find a real point guard. Don't underestimate the Carlisle.

That's way too high for the Pels. New Orleans is going to be last year's Phoenix squad. They've got the ability to beat anybody on any given night but they're not going to just jump into 4-8 contention in a stacked Western Conference.

Anthony Davis will be the 3rd best player in the league next year. He won't need Starlord as his running mate to be the 4th seed

They won't find a PG, their PG will bring them down. You also have to take into account that Chandler will miss time at some point and not be game ready for a handful of others. You say don't underestimate Carlisle but he still only coached that roster to a 8th seed last season.

What roster? Dirk and Monte? That team wasn't better than an 8th seed.

You don't give the rest of the roster enough credit.

Calderon, Carter, Marion, Wright, Blair, Dalembert...all solid players that were apart of that team.

You tried to spin Marion signing with the Cavs as not significant

BWare is just way too high on Chandler Parsons in general. The Mavs are a playoff team but they aren't top 4 in the West. That division is going to be an absolute dog fight. All 5 teams might make the playoffs

But all very replaceable.

Does that change that they all contributed to the success Dallas had? You think way to highly of Parsons, acquiring him and Chandler isn't enough to jump them up five seeds in the stacked West.

Not sure how you can say he's a solid piece to the Mavs after saying signing him to the minimum basically meant nothing. I'm sure you'll say something about how he fits but it's not like a combo forward with defensive capabilities and the ability to stretch the floor a little bit can't fit in multiple places

I was naming their rotational guys, hence why Brandon Wright was in there even though he is still with the team.

There was only a five game difference between Dallas and last year's 4 seed (Houston). Only 8 games between them at the Clips. We're not talking about comparing a 44 win team to a 56+ winner, here. The West is close, and there's no reason adding an actual, real center and one of the best young SFs in the game can't jump the Mavs quite a few seeds.

I also think Carlisle gets the most out of Felton.

4-8 games is a lot in the West.

And when talking about Chandler, you're writing Dalembert off as some sort of amateur or scrub. That's not the case. And you still haven't taken Chandlers injury problems into account. They'll be stuck playing a guy like Greg Smith big minutes when TC is unavailable.

And Parsons isn't one of the top young SF's in the league in the way you're describing him. You really overrate his production.

You're going to have to explain how Chandler Parsons isn't a top young SF, because he very clearly is. Am I calling him an all-star? No. I'm not overvaluing him. He's going to be tremendous for the Mavericks because he's got a real coach and a superstar who actually leads his team.

And he's also not going to get nearly as many shots as he did in Houston just based on pace alone.

And Nola why wouldn't Brandon wright start at C if/when Tyson gets hurt? Did I miss something
