EH, maybe it will.

Another sign that the deal is imminent: ESPN The Magazine's Ric Bucher reported Tuesday night on SportsCenter that O'Neal is scheduled to travel to Phoenix on Wednesday, presumably to take a physical.

Bad trade for Phoenix...Shaq doesn't hardly have anything left, and Marion on the other hand has a lot left. They should try to trade him for someone else.

I dont understand this.....

I heard the Suns pulled this trade to get a low post defensive threat, only thing is they traded Marion for Shaq?

There are better low post defensive threats, i.e. Marcus Camby, Chris Kaman, Tyson Chandler, Emeka Okafor......BUt they trade Marion for Shaq?

Another horrible trade made by the new GM Steve Kerr.

Wow. I don't know anymore. I thought this was completely dumb trade for the Suns. I mean you're adding 20 Million dollars to your salary cap. That is an issue. It is killing your CAP but I will be honest... Its the easiest way to get build around Amare in the future because we know Steve Nash and Shaquille O'Neal both plan on retiring in the next 3 years. Maybe Phoenix did this for the future to cut all there luxuiry taxes. I dont understand how you move Marion for Shaq. It is completely made me dumb-founded. I could have seen a Shaq for Stephon deal rather than this. IDK but I feel like an asshole for dismissing this last night.

Well, Marion and Amare really didn't get along, and I've read a lot of reports that people think the team chemistry in Phoenix was a problem. Since Marion requested a trade in the off-season, it's obvious that he really didn't want to be there. Acquiring Shaq, gives them playoff experience and we all know that the Suns style just hasn't worked in the playoffs. O'Neal will allow them to play more of a half court set and they will be able to match up better with teams like San Antonio. It might take some time for things to click in Phoenix, but once the playoffs come around, I think it will really help. On Miami's side, I think we can all agree that this is a good deal. Marion and Wade will make a good due for years, it's just a matter of whether or not they can bring in pieces to build around them. Mark Blount at center and Jason Williams at point guard aren't gonna get it done.

Marion was the one reason why I became a Suns fan along with being a Knicks fan.... Whenever Knicks fail I turn to the Suns so now my Life just got ultra f****d.

Ok after giving it a bit of thought, Phoenix's side isn't as bad as you think. Only for the short run at least. Imagine it, Shaq and Amare. Wow is all I can say, is there any team in the league that will be able to stop them? Nash has a new HUGE target to pass too, as long as Shaq can stay healthy I can really see these Suns becoming a title condentor.

C- Shaq
PF- Stoudemire
SF- Hill/Diaw
SG- Bell/Barbosa
PG- Nash

VERY solid core right there.

Marion's under 30.

Thing is, if I remember his contract, he has a player option for next year.

Marion would be unhappy after not winning a championship again, and he's already unhappy with the team.

May as well get something for him... You got a player who I think, despite the bad knees, still attracts more attention inside than anybody but 5-7 players in the league... That should help mr Stoudamire just a bit.

Marion is 29.

Go to suns.com and let the intro load, and you will get a peak at what Shaq looks like in a Suns uniform, it's a jersey switch but still.

He looks VERY misplaced lol.

if this trade does happen I would love to see how Phoenix plays and wat type of impact Shaq would have on there team. The Heat still won't be extremely good because Matrix and Wade willbe the only good players on their team really (not to discredit Wright or Cook)

As a Miami fan, This would be killer as I love Shaq but if this trade is to better Miami then go for it.
