He accepted the suspension too. Probably cut a deal with the MLB. They made the suspension shorter, he agreed not to appeal.

Why does the MLB even want to go down this road?

What road? Are you referring to suspending him and other guys, or working out a deal with him?

Suspending him and the rest of the league by the time they hand out all suspensions.

They ain't suspending the rest of the league. PEDs put a huge black eye on the sport, and they were finally getting away from it, and now it's popping up again. They want to end it.

People cheating in the game? How DARE they want to punish them.

But seriously though, fuck Braun.

This is only positive for MLB. The best way for them to stop PED use is to bring down the stars and show the rest of the players that they won't get away with cheating anymore. And plus it sounds like just about every MLB player wanted him suspended, some even wanting him out for life. They hate him, so I doubt "the entire league" is juicing.

I think this is bad. They could easily cover this up, I think it would be better to have big numbers  for the casual fan. I don't know, I might be really wrong.

Most fans hate Braun already, this is not going to impact the game at all. Screw what the "casual fan" wants, I want a clean game and the game has been just as fun with this much stricter drug policy. If you want athletes juicing because it means "more entertainment" go watch WWE.

They never got away from it, and they never will, it will only get worse.  Don't even open that book if I'm the MLB.

Same thing with the NFL.  Cheating sucks, but I wouldn't even want to go down that road.

They were getting away with it until the New York times launched an investigation and an ex-biogensis employee gave information. The MLB had no clue.

Exactly, and they'll continue to get away with it when this all blows over until someone else breaks the story.  It's just a revolving process.

The point is to deter players from taking this road. Will every be clean? Of course not, but the penalties are steep, and it will make players think twice. This is good PR for baseball actually. They're going to after legit superstars, and they're not afraid to suspend them.

Braun is a douche. I've heard many players around the league think the same thing.

This is a good start for the league. Ban a player of an upper echelon and show the league there is zero tolerance.

I really disagree with that. In fact, because of PEDs, now for the rest of the game whenever some kid starts belting HRs out of nowhere people are going to assume he's juicing, and they accuse the person in a negative way. Instead of just being amazed that a player like Chris Davis is on a power tear people are going to be less entertained because they'll be suspicious he's not legit. PEDs do not make the game better because it forever leaves suspicion.

Although I do agree they need to permaban A-Rod and Braun, but that's a pipedream.

If anyone's getting the permaban it has to be A-Rod..dude admits to cheating only to get caught keep continuously trying to cheat.
