A player drafted in the rule 5 draft will cost the drafting team $50K and must be kept on the 25-man major league roster all year (they can be on the DL) or they must be offered back to the former team for $25K.
The rule 5 draft takes place on December 10, the last day of the winter meetings in Nashville.
