Royce White has been absent from the Houston Rockets' media day and training camp in what the team is describing as "a personal matter."

White has a history of anxiety issues.

“We are committed to Royce’s long-term success, and we will continue to support him now and going forward,” said Daryl Morey.

Interesting story.

i just read that. i know his issues were BIG during the draft process. i mean he must have really bad attacks. if he cant be there for all of this i can only imagine how itll be during the season. he already said he cant fly. as an athlete he cant be taking medication because of the side effects. xanax would make him so zoned out on the court.

actually, dude is probably like a zombie from meds.

pretty sad; assuming all of this is because of his anxiety.

White isn't sure when he'll be able to join his new team. "It's not really anything that's going on right now," said White.

"It is definitely linked with my anxiety ... Basically what happened was my doctor, we discussed it, and it was decided the way the plan was now just wasn't logistically healthy."

His anxiety is exacerbated by a fear of flying, which could be a serious hurdle as the Rockets criss-cross the country to play 41 away games.
thats going to be such a drag for him as a player. all the talent in the world. i really like his game. this could end his career before it really even starts.

i guess mchale said something about him needing to be here and hes not. morey said no comment when asked about this.

So our dumbass head coach has already called out a guy who could potentially be the best draft pick we've made in years?

Good job, McHale. You aren't here for the long haul, anyway, so get the fuck out. When you have issues with anxiety or depression, you can comment on something like that, you fucker.

Get better, Royce. Take all of the time you need. Those of us who believe in you will welcome you back gracefully.

Dude could be good, but I feel like his anxiety is going to prevent that. Too much baggage lol.

Can you get passed anxiety? if not, odds are he'll never become the player he's capable of...

or last too long in the NBA period.

Hope he finds a way to cope...

I like him as a player too, but I don't think he would ever be a big time player in the league despite his talent, even without the anxiety issues.

They will probably just try him out on a bunch of different meds until they find one that works well.

I pretty much refuse to fly as well, but I'd just knock myself out on meds for every flight in his situation

Get a bus and hire two drivers for the long trips so they don't have to stop for sleep.

Seems easy enough unless they're playing like across the country the next night. Might have to suck it up a few times and fly
