Sorry buddy, but nobody wants to work for micro-manager Phil Jackson.

I still find it hard to believe that Phil would hire someone he isn't very familiar with.

Mike D'Antoni will receive a second interview with the Houston Rockets for their head coaching vacancy.

The Rockets fired Kevin McHale in November and decided not to retain J.B. Bickerstaff.

D'Antoni is currently associate head coach of the Philadelphia 76ers. D'Antoni has previously been a head coach with the Denver Nuggets, Phoenix Suns, New York Knicks and Los Angeles Lakers.

After an impressive first interview, D'Antoni will sit-down with Rockets' owner Leslie Alexander.

Jeff Van Gundy and Frank Vogel have also been considered strong candidates for the Rockets.

Van Gundy has received strong support from Daryl Morey but Alexander isn't sold on the concept of a reunion.

Sounds like D'Antoni is the next coach of the Rockets

Mike D'Antoni has emerged as the frontrunner to become the next head coach of the Houston Rockets.

The Rockets have begun gauging the market on possible top assistant coaches to join D'Antoni.

Jeff Van Gundy is no longer a candidate for the Rockets' job as Daryl Morey didn't want to drag him through an extended process and the team ultimately decided they wanted a different type of coach.

D'Antoni returned to the NBA midseason as an assistant coach with the Philadelphia 76ers.

Rotten Egg SI: D'Antoni instructs Harden to just stay on the offensive side of the court during defensive possessions.
