UWP he really doesn't avoid contact, I've watched every Bulls game this year and 8/10 times he TRIES to get contact to get to the line and the refs call it maybe 3/10.

Theres a reason he hurt his wrist and knee, because of contact in the lane. But instead of being like Rondo he doesn't sit out games he plays through it and still puts up 24 and 8.

You haven't really seen many bulls game as evidenced by the fact you say he avoids contact. I also think the lack of calls stems from the fact that he gets to the rim faster than any player in the league and officials aren't used to having to make calls even quicker on driving plays.

I hope you know that Doc wanted Rondo to sit, not Rondo wanted to sit. Did you see the Celtics-Knicks game? Rondo came back after rolling his ankle and tried to play but Doc sat him.

And I don't have to watch every Bulls game to realize that Rose avoids contact. Does it mean he always avoids contact? No. But for the most part, he tries to avoid contact.

this video is filled with examples where rose tries to avoid contact to make the basket instead of going up strong.

Seriously, you guys make it too easy.

Both examples aren't necessialrily him avoiding contact in the first one at :21 he made an easy right hand layup, the defender didn't even try and defend. Why, in that situation, would he force contact? Would he have he would have been under the hoop and the layup that much more difficult.

What I'm saying is when the defender makes it even REASONABLE to make contact and have derrick still make the shot he's gonna go at him.

But he doesn't play stupid, if he can take a layup without much opposition and guarantee the team 2 points hes not gonna risk to get to the line.

The fact that Rose continually tries to avoid contact and turns his body away from other defenders leads to the refs believing he did not get hit at all. That's what I'm getting at. It's a very bad habit for Rose, and it's going to continue until he goes up strong.

Like I said, I watched the first 6 calls in that video and they were all called right. You can cry about the refs all you want but at least be smart about it...

Rose has a great chance of wining the mvp. if the bulls get as high as the 3 seed in the east he will win it. if the season were to end today he would win it. not tying to sound like a homer but stats back up the claim.

Problem being? but I guess I could see D-Rose getting the MVP but I'm not sure about this season..
A rookie shouldn't be getting as many calls as a third year player having an MVP type season...

Blake Griffin is right up there with everyone but Dwight Howard for foul calls... Being a rookie doesn't matter and it shouldn't matter when it comes to getting calls.

john wall is not getting as many calls as rose gets. sure rose in the past has shied away from contact. but this season he has improved on getting to the FT stripe. each month his FTA's have gone up.

John Wall 4.9

Derrick Rose 6.1

he is steadily behind the nba's elite in that category.

Actually, being a rookie does typically matter. There are lots of rookies that don't get the foul calls they deserve. Is it wrong? Probably... But a lot of refs make players earn the respect before they just give them calls.

Actually when I posted this Wall and Rose were tied for FT's per game, that was what I was referring to (almost a month ago).

are you guys really discussing players getting calls, like an mvp player should get more? just because he's a superstar?
