It will be so much fun, the Knicks bench is going to be able to tell stories to young players about what it was like to play basketball when everyone used actual peach baskets. And what it was like to shake Teddy Roosevelt’s hands.

It appears the Knicks are about to get older. We’ve been passing on the reports for a couple days now — Rasheed Wallace was working out with the Knicks, then the Knicks decided they wanted him so it fell to Wallace to decide if he wanted to commit to conditioning and coming back to the NBA.
Well, it may be getting one step closer. Although I’d rather predict the outcome of an NFL game with replacement refs than what Sheed will do next. But check out this tweet from Jared Zwerling of ESPN.

Source close to #Knicks: All the players expect a Rasheed Wallace signing to become official. He took his physical w/ the team yesterday.

If the players think it is going to happen, it means Wallace is giving off that vibe.

So let’s review, Wallace, age 38, will join the Knicks bench with Jason Kidd (39), Kurt Thomas (39), Marcus Camby (38) and Argentinian “rookie” Pablo Prigioni (35).
I don’t see what could possibly go wrong there. Nope.

We had to do this because, you know, our average age on the roster was too low.

The Knicks just don't get it.

It's pretty obvious they just care more about being in the headlines than winning games.

Whenever I have heard about Sheed coming back, I'd get excited, and only be disappointed. Now, It's finally happened. Can't get myself enough of Sheed!

We'll see what he has left, but I could see him getting 8-10 points a night, in 20-24 minutes.

I'd be surprised if he doesn't weigh 400 pounds right now. He couldn't stay in shape even when he was an active player.

Report: Rasheed Wallace will sign with Knicks or nobody

UPDATE 5:32 pm: Rasheed Wallace’s agent spoke with ESPNNewYork.com and said that other teams should not get their hopes up about Sheed — he will play for the Knicks or nobody.

“That’s my understanding, based on his relationship with Coach (Mike) Woodson,” Strickland said by phone.
A team source said Wallace has not yet signed a deal, but that something could be done by the end of the day.
The story goes on to say it was Carmelo Anthony who said Sheed took his physical and is close to signing on the dotted line.

Haha this move is good but it won't have an impact.

13 on a single night in the season is a bit of an outrageous statement isn't i lol?

he can have a good defensive impact off the bench but I don't see him having too big an impact. like 13 a night. that's crazy talk.

Sheed can't play defense, he's way too immobile at his age and weight
his only chance of creating an impact is to knock down the distance shots, which he probably wont.

Averaging 13 points is absolute crazy talk. Averaging 13 minutes is a stretch too

I meant 13 minutes, not points lol. Was suppose to quote David's post.
No way he touches 13 points a game lol.
