Report: Miguel Tejada suspended 105 games

Jeff Passan of Yahoo Sports reports that Miguel Tejada will be suspended 105 games for testing positive for amphetamines.

It's the third longest suspension in MLB history. Tejada tested positive for Adderall in the past and failed two drug tests this season, which resulted in the 105 game ban. The 39-year-old will not appeal the suspension. Tejada is expected to retire after serving the first 41 games while on the disabled list.

And thats how he ends his Career smh.

Pretty sure you're right on that. Agents/doctors know better than to prescribe it to athletes who take frequent drug tests.

I don't believe so, if you have ADD and are medically prescribed it you can take it.

Mike Pelfrey revealed that he takes Adderall to treat ADHD while discussing the Miguel Tejada situation with the media.

Tejada was reportedly slapped with the third-longest non-lifetime suspension in baseball history for using the medication. Pelfrey renews his therapeutic use exemption every year, while Tejada allowed his own exemption to lapse. Pelfrey believes Adderall could act as a performance-enhancer to players that haven't been diagnosed with ADD: "When you don't need it, it acts like a true amphetamine," he said. "I don't get all amped up on it. I'm probably more laid back when I'm on it. My thought process is toned down to one thing instead of 20 different things. Without it I'm pretty hyperactive and running around." The 29-year-old starter is 4-10 with a 5.26 ERA in 22 starts this season.
