The best season in Houston Texans franchise history just veered off the road.
Quarterback Matt Schaub will miss the rest of the season with a Lisfranc injury in his foot, according to ESPN’s Adam Schefter.
The Texans would not confirm that news just yet, but coach Gary Kubiak did say that it was possible Schaub wouldn’t play again. He’s going to see a few specialists this week, apparently in effort to find better news.
We still think the Texans can and will win the division with Matt Leinart at quarterback. (More on that soon.)
But dreams of a playoff bye and potential Super Bowl run for the Texans just took a massive hit. Matt Leinart has his chance to prove a whole lot of people wrong over the rest of the season.
UPDATE: Gary Kubiak said on 610 in Houston that the team believes Schaub is not out for the season.
