Report: Lions willing to let Suh become FA

NFL.com's Ian Rapoport reports the Lions are willing to let walk-year DT Ndamukong Suh reach the open market next offseason.

Per Rapoport, the Lions want an "informed" Suh to "sign a deal he’s happy with." It's a bizarre tact, one that would all but assure Suh leaves as a free agent. Players of his caliber almost never hit the open market. It's possible the Lions are simply tired of the Suh experience, but he's an irreplaceable presence up front.

Not really a surprise.
I could see us franchising him though.

I am surprised.  If they don't franchise him, it will be crazy to let him go for nothing.

This is correct.  Franchising is not an option.  He's gone.

What, don't like him?

There's like 7 billion people on this planet, and he has the most unlikable disposition of all of them.  Between his agent being "happy to get to free agency quicker", his sister taking shots at the city on Twitter and his overall dickheadishness to basically everyone, it's juts a marriage gone wrong.

He could have just said like back in January that he didn't plan on restructuring and he looked forward to entering free agency.  Instead it has to be a whole process of drama.  A bunch of drama because the Lions can't even try to negotiate because he doesn't have a hired agent until the middle of March.  A bunch of drama because the restructuring never comes and it destroys the Lions ability to sign free agents.  Go do an episode of American Muscle and then cause a lot more drama when the team has to publicly announce that they've broken off talks with you.

Guy acts like he's a rock star, walks through life like he's Mick Jagger.  YOU'RE A DEFENSIVE TACKLE, DUDE. YOU PLAY THE LEAST IMPORTANT POSITION ON THE FIELD BESIDES THE GUYS WHO HIT THE BALL WITH THEIR FOOT.  Get the fuck out of here.  Yeah, I'll be thrilled when he just walks and the Lions can use that 20+ million dollar cap hit on players that are actually consequential, like corner backs.  Go crash your car into fire hydrants somewhere else far from here.  I doubt he'll take out a newspaper add to thank fans for their support when he leaves.

I didn't know he was like that.  Never really followed him.  I guess it sounds like a good move then.  Lose the drama.

He gets suspended more than he makes plays, and trust me he makes plays. He is a loose cannon on the field.
