Completely agree. Offense has all the weapons. There defense? Not so sure of. However the pats had the best offense a few years ago and made it to the Superbowl to lose to the Giants.

The Lions aren't anywhere near a Top 3 offense.

Average offensive line, at best, with plenty of question marks. Matthew Stafford isn't the best decision maker, and outside Calvin, they don't have any reliable receivers. The guy who they hoped to be their #2, Brandon Pettigrew, got moved behind Scheffler on the depth chart. That should say enough. They don't have a reliable #2 WR, because Burelson isn't anything and Broyles, who I loved at OU, isn't a #2 WR in the NFL. Reggie Bush, I'm not even sure he's an upgrade at RB over Leshoure. He's successful when the passing game is the only threat and the defense is only focused on stopping the pass. But unless a legit #2 option appears for the Lions, the pass game wont be good enough for Bush to get his lanes.

Calvin Johnson alone doesn't make you a Top 3 offense. At all.

And before you say anything about the Lions being a Top 3 offense last year, they werent. They were 3rd in total yards, but 17th in scoring, and allowed the 6th most giveaways. And that 3rd in yards was from the pass game (22nd in rushing). But its not hard to get 3rd overall when you have about 70 more pass attempts  than anybody else

Bosox is 100% right. Their offense has talent, but they're not a top-3 NFL offense. They're a high powered offense, that's true, but nothing too special. As for their defense, it leaves a TON to be desire. They're going to get killed in their secondary as they didn't really improve it like they should have. Will be interesting to watch them this season, but I'm not expecting them to be a Playoff team.

Bush is a pretty sizable upgrade over Leshoure,

The thing is..if you have a good defense, the Lions are easy to defend. Drop back into coverage. That's hard.

Hence why we brought in Bush. Someone who can keep the defense honest. He's going to be a huge addition.

so many people praised the addition of bush for helping the passing game, and still act as if we didnt improve the RUN game. he helps a lot.
