Shit look at the lions who drafted a receiving te with an early 1st. And he sucks at blocking. All about trying to score as much as possible

Key word is "Lions" though.

Atleast bosox hit on one thing and that's that Davis isn't a hall of famer. After 8 hours I'm still laughing at the thought that he's better than Jimmy though.
If I had to choose between Vernon and Jimmy, I'm taking Vernon. He's the better TE (not the better receiver). Graham gets shit on when he faces a good CB (Talib, Sherman last year), and then he provides no value then whatsoever. Davis can block well in the run and pass game, and has a ton of speed for the receiving game. If Davis gets shut down by a Sherman, he still has an impact on the game. Graham does not.

The HOF isn't easy to get into. Chris Carter was one of the best pass catchers in the 90s, and it took him a decent while to get into the HOF. If you think "who are the best pass catchers of this era?", Graham does not come up right away. Calvin, Wayne, Andre, Fitz, Smith; those guys are the pass catchers of the era, not Graham.

People don't get into the HOF for what they will do, but what they did. And that's why he's not a 10. He's been a good receiver, but he's a 4 year pro. Way too short of a career.

The only players that I would give a 10 right now, are Peyton, Rodgers, Peterson, Calvin, Joe Thomas, with an honorable mention to Watt, Brady, Revis, and Sherman.

I think it makes more sense to rank players based on what they currently project to be, not what they've accomplished.

Champ Bailey is a hall of famer, but I certainly wouldn't rank him as a 10 right now.

That's why I don't have Brady as a 10, either. He's on the noticeable downside of his career. But he still plays at an elite level, so he gets a 9.

And for your counter: would you give the Texans DEs a 10, between Watt and Clowney? Watt's a beast, and Clowney is a freak, and will put up NUMBERS. But do you give them a 10? No. It's too early in their careers

I'd give Watt a 10, but collectively, you can't do that.

Bosox though, we're talking about position groups, not players.

A 10 would mean they are the best position group vs the other 31 teams at that position group. Yes, Watt and Clowney would be a 10 DE combo, because no one can compete with them. Who cares how long they've played? If they are the best in the NFL, they are the best in the NFL. Who cares what happened in the past?

And when you are talking about best pass catchers of the era, OBVIOUSLY WR's are going to come up. If you ask who are the best pass catches ever, everyone will name WR's. TE's will always come second to the WR's, but that doesn't mean they can't dominate their position.

The HOF doesn't care about position. That's why a punter made it in. It's being one of the best at your position, not in comparison to a position somewhat similar to yours. And in today's NFL, what Gronk and Graham are doing what makes them the best at their position.

And it's funny saying Graham can be shut down by Sherman/Talib. Every single pass catcher ever has been shut down a few times. Who cares. Davis has been shut down by a lot worse than those two studs.

If 5 is league average, he's a 5. There are easily 16 QB's I'd rather have.

There's a difference between being an average QB and an average starting QB.

Not to mention how can you be so definitive after he hasn't even had a full starting season? There is still so much potential to tap, and coming off a 27 TD to 2 INT season, that's a real good thing.

The title of the thread is "Rank Your Team's Starters" and as a starter Foles is average therefore he's a 5. He overachieved tremendously last year because of Kelly's system, which would make just about any QB look good. I'd be willing to bet if you substitued Mark Sanchez in on last year's Eagles team the results aren't that different.

OT 6
OG 7
C 4

DE 7 (haven't seen Jared Allen play yet but potentially this unit is def. A 7)
DT 7
