http://www.nhl.com/ice/commentsthread.htm?id=548277#COMMENTTOPThe New York Rangers have sent defenseman Michael Del Zotto to the Connecticut Whale of the American Hockey League, and called up defenseman Ryan McDonagh.
Del Zotto, 20, the team's 2008 first-round pick (No. 20) had 2 goals and 9 points in 35 games this season. Last season, his 37 points led Rangers defensemen.
McDonagh, 21, had 8 points in 38 AHL games. He was taken with the 12th pick of the 2007 Entry Draft by the Montreal Canadiens, and was dealt to the Rangers as part of the Scott Gomez deal.
Wow..he had such a great year last year and he has been playing so poorly last year. Not sure if it's the right move but Gilroy responded well when he got to play when Torts scratched Del Zotto. Hopefully he gets his shit together and will be back with the team soon.
