The rumor all through spring training was that the Texas Rangers were going to make 2010 American League Rookie of the Year Neftali Perez switch from the closer position he dominated last year to the starting-pitching rotation. After Feliz spent 14 innings as a starter and notched a 1.93 ERA, the team finally decided against it and it sounds like Feliz doesn't ever really want to try the experiment again.

"I spent most of spring training as a starter and I enjoyed it,'' Feliz said Sunday, according to USA Today. "But I'm a closer now, and God willing I'll remain a closer the rest of my career. I made the decision that I won't start anymore.''

Feliz, who is expected to come off the disabled list Friday, also said that the team is open to him serving as a starter next season, but he's not really into that idea, the paper reports: "I don't want to do it anymore,'' he said. "This year my arm didn't feel good after they moved me from the rotation back to closing, so I don't want to go through that again and risk the same thing happening.''

good. He's a reliever. He should stay a reliever. The Rangers have plenty of young Starting Pitchers who are already off to a great start this year, and they still have a very deep farm system.

He's made a living as a prime example of a good closer

He'll stay that way.

I dont know whats up with teams and trying to make closers starters. For every Adam Wainwright, theres a million Joba's and Papelbon's.

Problem with Joba isn't that he wasn't capable of being a starter, it's the Joba Rules that ruined him. He was on his way to having a really nice 09 season til we fucked with his innings, same thing with Hughes last year. Management ruined both
