This really hurts for Boston, because not only do we want Rondo to stay, but what available assets are out there?

Like, an ideal trade for me would be a S&T deal next offseason of Rondo for Klay Thompson and Brandon Rush's contract. I know most people are thinking "They didn't want to move Klay for L0ve, so why would they move him for Rondo?", but the Minny deal was Klay AND Barnes AND Lee AND picks. This has a lot less assets lost for the Dubs. The only concern with this deal is would the Warriors want to lose the shooting that Klay provides for the W's, but Rondo's playmaking ability could make Steph even more lethal than before.

Its gonna be tough for us.

That has no chance of happening

Barnes and David Lee aren't assets, the deal was turned down because of Klay's involvement.

Rondo is the better player, without a doubt. Isolate the teams out of the aspect, and simply say "Rondo or Thompson?": the answer should be Rondo.

Rondo not fitting the Warriors offensive approach as well as Klay does is a reasonable excuse to reject the deal, but not because you "don't want to trade Klay for him".

The Warriors aren't trading Klay Thompson for Rajon Rondo.

Thompson was also a better player last season.

Well it'll keep puddling because they have nothing to offer.

Marcus Smart odds to win ROY have just went up.
I don't think we'll set him up with enough opportunities to get ROY, especially when Wiggins and Parker are gonna get so many open looks

He should be starting in the Rookie/Sophomore game tho

I would hope not. Detroit shouldn't be in the sweepstakes for him.

Danny is in a rebuild, and I don't think he wants Jennings really, or Monroe either.

If you included Drummond in any type of deal, even if it stripped our assets like Smart, I think Danny would do it, but I doubt detroit would.

I also dont know if Rondo would re-sign; thats a huge factor in the trade discussions (and why hes not with the kings right now)

josh and rondo have both said they want to play together. that'd be a plus. wanting to rebuild and then not wanting greg is kind of laughable. but, you do have sully so....

im fine with not getting rondo. ive always thought he was overrated. good player, will always need the right guys around him though.

Yea we don't need Monroe because we have scoring 4s, but we need a defensive 5, which he is far from.

I think it's more than doubt that Detroit would even consider it. They might not ever return your calls if offered that.

yeah, but that's not how you build a team.

Have three offensive PFs and no defensive Cs? Might as well trade out best player for another offensive PF.

Sullinger is probably our third best asset (not including picks), and Olynyk the 4th best. It's already hard finding PT for them, and adding. Monroe doesn't help.

Look, that's why everyone thought Boston was going to trade Rondo at Draft time. Because why draft a starting G if you don't plan on starting them? That means one has to go.

You don't trade Rondo so you have to trade away Sully. This is the whole damn Julius Randle argument all over again.
