How is Gasol a horrible fit?  Whether or not he's an ideal fit beside Noah doesn't really matter, it gives them incredible versatility in the front court with Taj rotating in.
 
They also added two, real life, actual shooters on the bench in McDermott and Mirotic.  Neither of which I would count on for much early on, but they add a dimension that the Bulls just didn't have last season at all outside of Dunleavy.
 
Then of course you have Rose.  If the healthy Rose is here to stay, that's an immense amount of improvement from last year.  Title contention barring disaster.
