Sucks to hear he shot himself. Looks like the Giants will be without him for a while.

But I gotta tell ya, when I saw the title, I was a bit thrown off. I thought like, someone "accidentally" shot him...

What a jackass. Shouldn't be in the club in the first place, but that's besides the point... How the f-ck do you manage to shoot yourself? :rotfl:

Developing Stoy:

Sal Paolantonio says that Burress was at a Night Club in Manhattan with LB Antonio Pierce. The gun slipped down his pants and he tried to retrieve it, and it went off. Hit a bit of muscle tissue, no damage to arteries.

The big question is what happened to the gun, and did Pierce have anything to do with disposing the gun.

this means that Burress' mistake might have an impact on our Defensive Captain.... son of a....

I find it funny that he intends on pleading not guilty... How's he going to explain that? He f-cking shot himself in the leg! There's no way in hell he's not guilty.

they have the gun. It was recovered at his house.

He's only not pleading guilty cuz the minimum sentence is 3 1/2 years, unless they can find someway to lower the case level, to a class D from class C, then its 2 years. He's just gonna try and get out of it.

This same lawyer actually puleld off the same thing a few years back, so its possible.

NYC Mayor has even come out today and publicaly said that he expects Burress to be persecuted to the fullest extent of the law and would be shocked if he wasn't.
--------------------------------------------
Quote from NFL.com Article:

Ben Brafman, a well-known defense lawyer who represented hip-hop impresario Sean "Diddy" Combs on a bribery and gun possession charge in 2001.
Wikipedia (i love this site!)
Ben Brafman's first such client was Sean "P. Diddy" Combs, who was ultimately acquitted from his 1999 illegal weapons and bribery charges. Despite the numerous prosecution witnesses to Combs' culpability, and Combs' fame, Brafman's legal skills produced a unanimous 'not guilty' verdict

New York Post is reporting that when Burress got to the Hospital, he checked in under the name Harris Smith

Burress was releasted today at $100k bond.

Also Hostpital might be under fire, because they apparently didn't report gunshot, which is against the law.

Yeah, I heard about his lawyer on ESPN First Take this morning... He'll get away with it. As long as you have money, you can get away with basically anything.

Since Bush made it possible to carry a concealed weapon, why not get a permit? Im not fond of Plax's past, if he has any prior convictions but c'mon man you gotta think.

And if your gonna carry a concealed weapon at least tighten your belt enough it doesnt start to fall so you have to "catch" it and shoot yourself. Everyone knows that.

Damnit Plax......

Also, I just read on NFL.com's bottom scroll thing, that (not sure if it was today or last tuesday) Giants WR Steve Smith was held at gunpoint outside his house and the robber forced him to hand over his money and all jewerly.... f-ed up man.

HA found it, lol.

According to Clifton, N.J., police, second-year receiver Steve Smith was robbed at gunpoint in the early hours of Nov. 25 after arriving home.

Smith had just returned to his townhouse in a chauffer-driven car when he was approached from behind by man who held a gun to Smith's head, Clifton police Capt. Robert Rowan said.

"He said to him, 'Give me everything you got,' and Mr. Smith turned over his jewelry and money and cell phone," Rowan said Tuesday.

The man left the scene and is still being sought, Rowan said. It was unclear if Smith's driver was at the townhouse during the hold-up.

Should have been carrying a gun like Plax, then that wouldn't have happened...
