Our team has not performed the way we had expected throughout the first third of the season and adjustments need to be made in terms of our focus and direction. We are shifting priorities to aggressively develop our younger players while also expanding the roles of other players in the current rotation to improve performance and build for our future. As we expand certain roles, others will be reduced. In fairness to Josh, being a highly versatile 10-year veteran in this league, we feel its best to give him his freedom to move forward. We have full respect for Josh as a player and a person.

what young guys? gotta tank even more now.

Josh Smith on the team that leads the league in three point attempts by seven attempts per game (Houston), please make this happen.

Can't help but wonder how good Josh Smith the role player can be.  I fear for the spacing issues on Houston with him and Howard out there together.  They could wreak havoc defensively though.  Interesting proposition IMO.  I think it could help them big time, or kill them big time.  Worth the risk considering it will cost them basically nothing.

I disagree with Detroit not wanting to send a first along with him.  I imagine that a conditional first (ex - lotto protected) would at least intrigue a team or two (Sacramento).  The problem now, even at just 5M dead money, it leaves that much less room for fuckups in terms of signings, which every team fucks up at least once or twice.

Daryl Morey has been salivating since the news broke. They've hooked up an IV to keep him hydrated.

Couldn't care less what we are paying him, even though it obviously sucks a little. I'm just glad to have him off this team. Shows the organization has a pulse, the fans needed this.
