BG will finally get his tho.

30 PPG on a shitty team. The'll still lose 85% of their games. Everybody happy

Oh wow. Dumars has a pulse. And it is actually a move I approve of. Good bye to Gordon and his awful contract. I hope we amnesty Charlie now.

I don't foresee this leading to any other moves though (trading wise). We HOPEFULLY will still draft a big man, and just sign a backup guard though. I don't want to sign Chris Kaman. And I don't want to see a guard being buried on the bench for Stuckey for the next 3-4 years, and that's if Stuckey doesn't get re-upped after this contract is up. Could care less about Maggette though. Gone after this year anyways.

I still hate Dumars with every fiber of my body though.

i dont see a guard being buried on the bench because stuckey would play the 1 and 2 off the bench.

No, Stuckey is going to start regardless. I think his contract makes that pretty clear.
Also not in love with any of the guards that will be available for us. Maybe other than Rivers.

And Perry Jones.
I value Henson higher than Waiters, Rivers, and Lamb though. I think he will be a better pro than all 3.
And I don't want anything to do with Chris Kaman.

We need to actually rebuild. Not pretend to be a good team with Chris Kaman.

If he drafts a big, we don't go after Kaman. And sign a backup guard.
If he drafts a guard, we try to go after Kaman.

I'd much rather have the first.
Sadly this move reeks of Chris Kaman.

I would rather that happen.

I've come to the conclusion that Perry Jones ceiling isn't even as high as people thought.

it does. id rather the first option too because that would open up hopefully trying to get players like ibaka, bynum, etc.. like i said though, im not talking about what i want until after the draft other then i want to go big in the draft still.

what are your thoughts on the trade?
It kind of confuses me honestly, from the perspective of both teams. Looking at it from the Pistons' perspective, they basically traded away a first round pick to cut one year off of Ben Gordon's contract. From the Bobcats' perspective, they basically bought a first round pick for 13 million dollars.

I think if the Pistons are really trying to get rid of that salary as quickly as possible, than it makes sense. They clearly felt the one year was worth a first round pick, I'm just not sure if I agree with it. Teams in the Pistons' situation are going to benefit from draft picks more than anything, so I don't agree with trading them away, unless the protections on it are going to keep it in their hands for a few years.

Player wise, the Bobcats get what should be a go-to scorer (if Ben still has it in him after rotting away in Detroit). I'm not sure if Corey Maggette fits in Detroit at all. He can still score for sure, but I can't see him starting unless they deal Prince, and Maggette isn't the type to buy into a backup role. He also isn't a big fan of playing defense, hence why Scott Skiles ran him out of Milwaukee.

So in a nutshell, I don't get it.

Ethan J. Skolnick ‏@EthanJSkolnick

It shows how far Joe Dumars has fallen as an executive, when it's not clear if he gets the better of Michael Jordan.

i think it was done for monetary reasons really. most people have been expecting a CV buyout/amnesty. if that happens next year then we'll be looking at like $22M to spend.

but as you can read, i was happy at first and now i have more questions about the team. i think i was just happy he made a move. im pretty sure he had the longest trade-drought in the league.

Yeah like I said, I'm not sure if he buys into that role, but we'll see.

And I like Corey Maggette. (Duke boy)

I just hope he uses the potential cap wisely, otherwise we lose this deal because of the pick.
Like I said though, only have one year of Maggette anyways. Surprised we aren't just buying him out really.
