He has done shit for the preds last year when he was out with a broken leg, and this season hasnt shown much in his game. But we should have asked for moreThe Nashville Predators on Friday traded center Cal O'Reilly to the Phoenix Coyotes for a fourth-round pick in the 2012 NHL Draft. The trade is pending O'Reilly passing a physical.
The 6-foot, 188-pounder has played in five games with Nashville this season, collecting one assist and two penalty minutes. In 2010-11, he appeared in 38 games with the Predators, recording career highs in goals (6), assists (12) and points (18) in his first full season in Nashville.
"We are very excited to bring Cal to our organization," Coyotes GM Don Maloney said in a statement. "He is a young, highly skilled player who will help us at the center position. We look forward to having him in our lineup very soon."
The 25-year-old Toronto native has 11 goals, 35 points and 10 PIM in 85 career regular-season games with the Predators. He split the 2008-09 and 2009-10 seasons between the Predators and the AHL Milwaukee Admirals, scoring 22 goals and adding 87 assists for 109 points with 28 PIM in that span.
Nashville chose O'Reilly in the fifth round (No. 150) in the 2005 NHL Draft.
