There was no way he bet rather he would get a hit or not. Let him in!brett05 said:What if he gambled as a player as it appears there is evidence for?

I've got 4,256 reasons to believe he did not gamble on his own teams, while still playing.brett05 said:What if he gambled as a player as it appears there is evidence for?

That does not answer the question RickDRickD said:There was no way he bet rather he would get a hit or not. Let him in!
So as long as you break the rules in a very specific way, it's totally fine? That's a load of garbage.Pharoah said:I've got 4,256 reasons to believe he did not gamble on his own teams, while still playing.
Point is, you don't become all time hit king while betting on yourself and your team to lose. Again, its very hypocritical to keep Pete from the Hall. Its not like the Hall is only full of upstanding citizens; players who never broke rules.semperty said:So as long as you break the rules in a very specific way, it's totally fine? You don't know that he didn't gamble as a player and it appears that the Commish has evidence that he gambled as a player as well.RickD said:Basically, the man had over 4,000 hits. He deserves the Hall regardless of what he did when he retired.
