Pelicans reportedly interested in acquiring Markieff Morris from Suns; willing to move Ryan Anderson

-- via Bleacher Report

Thoughts? I think that this shows that New Orleans isn't just going to press the reset button and tank the season. Anderson really spaces the floor for them.

Pels should be tanking this season. Their management is screwing up the same way the Cavs first messed up with LeBron, they're trying to win too fast with Davis

Whoa.... This sounds earily similar to someone I had a conversation with yesterday...

AD's prime is gonna be ruined surrounded by mediocre players in New Orleans. Unless of course KD decides to go there because it's one of his best options in FA.

OKC did it right, once they got their superstar they didn't rush to surround him with mediocre players to make the playoffs immediately, they continued to draft young talent. Of course they've sucked with everything other than drafting but the result has been better than anything Cle did of NOP is doing.

LeBron being insanely good at such a young age didn't really help Cleveland to surround him with young talent but they still made poor decisions in trying to contend too early

Minnesota is one of the other franchises that is doing it right. They, like NOP, got their superstar in Wiggins (even if it was through different means) and they continued to suck the next year and ended up with another superstar in Towns. Minnesota is still not rushing to contend by signing decent players in their late 20s to poor contracts. They're still gonna be a lottery team and draft potential role players and make their move to contend in a year or two.

I wasn't trying to imply you were disagreeing, I was just expanding on my first point

Love what Minnesota has been doing. I'm also a big fan of the Sixers doing what they're doing. I've always been of the mantra: "You're either going to compete or suck. If you're going to suck you might as well do it right." Teams that are 8/9/10 seeds in the standings or right in the middle will forever be in limbo year after year until they commit one way or the other.

Pelicans really do need to tank. Don't ruin AD. Let him get other players around him who will be there to help him win.

The length and athleticism of Simmons/AD would be insane but i'd rather see Murray/AD

I like what the Sixers have done as well, up until the basically replaced Hinkie with Colangelo. It's only been two years and they seem to have grown impatient even though Hinkie has done a really good job

Just trade people. Don't tank.

Trade Jrue Holiday for a SF.

Tyreke Evans is capable of being the starting PG.

Tyreke-Gordon-SF-AD-Asik

with Markieff off the bench.

Agree that they need Markieff.

THey need toughness and he's perfect for the team.

Pelicans are a bit soft right now.

Signing Asik to that contract was a mistake

At some point the sixers have to start adding pieces, making trades with all the picks and young players they have and stop being the most disappointing team for 4 years now. Rebuilding shouldnt go on and on for this long. They have to start sooner rather than later. The atmosphere there has to change, they have to start winning or all of those top pick players will lose motivation. I bet its so tough for all those players to keep losing now when they were always on best teams in their career. Its time for them to start doing something, its getting old
