Yeah, I mean I'm certainly not a professional athlete so I guess I wouldn't know, but I feel like participating in ASW events wouldn't be all that taxing on them lol.

It's sorta their job tho, they're in their sneakers 7 days a week, I could see how one Saturday off without getting ready to play any sort of ball could be relaxing.

True. But still, can't be any more on their body than a regular game. 
 
I guess if you are worried about injuries that is one thing, but to say he will be exhausted is kinda dumb imo.

trying to win and compete means they have to practice more and do more press.

Well, depending on their teams, they also get 2-4 months of vacation. Yes, they have work out regiment's during the off-season, but hell, so do most well fit humans.
 
Not to mention retirement from your profession in your late 30s.
