Turns out it's a front loaded deal that gives the Redskins more flexibility going into the third year of his contract and beyond. Still lots of money, sure, but it really only locks him up until he's around 32 years old, which is when corners tend to regress.

Idk about the system that Washington runs with their secondary, but he is best in a Cover 3/4 system that allows him to ballhawk, similarly to Sherman
They have the edge rushers to get pressure if they do run Cover 3. I think he'll play well

In the end the Panthers made the right move. If he wouldn't sign for reasonable money, let him go.
