"The Padres acquired Carlos Quentin last December to bolster an offense that ranked last in the major leagues in home runs and third-to-last in runs scored. Now they will go at least the first two weeks of the regular season without their projected cleanup hitter. The club announced Saturday that Quentin will have arthroscopic surgery Monday in San Diego to repair a tear to the meniscus in his right knee and remove some lose particles from the knee."
