Pacman going to Canada to resume career

Adam "Pacman" Jones is heading to the Canadian Football League.

The controversial former NFL cornerback, released in the offseason by the Dallas Cowboys, agreed to a one-year deal with the Winnipeg Blue Bombers, The Canadian Press reported Tuesday.

The report said Jones, 26, picked the CFL over the fledgling United Football League.

Jones has had numerous run-ins off the field and was suspended by the NFL. In 2007, he was reportedly involved in a shooting incident outside a Las Vegas strip club and pleaded no contest to one count of conspiracy to commit disorderly conduct, for which he received a one-year suspended sentence.
Winnipeg huh? I believe the same team that once employed Onterrio "The Wizzinator" Smith.

I guess it's something for him, better than the NFL right now seeing as everybody is against him and noone wants him.

If he can stay a good lil boy and prove hes still got the talent and not be a distraction, maybe he can make his way back into the NFL one day.

ricky williams revived his career after coming to the CFL
I wouldn't say he revived his career...more like found a way to play (and get paid) while on NFL suspension. He broke his arm early in the CFL season.

i dont think Ricky he revived his career because of Canada, it was because of his past. Miami brought him back because of his past.

lmao, yeah theres no way hes gonna stay outta trouble wherever he is. i don't think he'll revive his rep like Ricky Williams did but he might get another chance down the line anyways.

..go on....
here:
WINNIPEG, Manitoba — Adam “Pacman” Jones won’t be playing for the Winnipeg Blue Bombers after all.

The CFL team announced Wednesday it has ended its pursuit of the controversial ex-NFL cornerback, one day after multiple reports said Jones would play for the team.

“It is unfortunate that this situation became public; however, our position has remained consistent,” Blue Bombers coach Mike Kelly said in a statement. “We will pursue athletes that we believe will contribute to our organization on and off the field.

“We have completed our assessment and due diligence and at this time we will not be pursuing the services of Adam Jones.”

Jones’ attorney, Worrick Robinson, told The Associated Press on Tuesday he had been in “consistent negotiations” with a CFL team, but wouldn’t say which one.

Jones is a former first-round draft pick of the Tennessee Titans who has twice been suspended by the NFL for off-field incidents — including for the entire 2007 season — and was released in February by the Dallas Cowboys.

Before coming to Dallas, Jones was arrested six times and involved in 12 instances requiring police intervention after Tennessee drafted him in 2005. He was suspended by commissioner Roger Goodell for the 2007 season before he got in trouble again.

The cornerback’s time with the Cowboys was cut short by six games for another behavior-related suspension, an off-field scuffle with a member of the security detail provided by the team.

Jones, who turns 26 at the end of this month, also drew interest from the UFL, the new four-team league scheduled to begin play in October.

Tuesday night, Jones was in a webcam video on an Internet site talking about joining the Bombers. In the video, he mixed up the CFL with the NFL and the new United Football League.

He also showed his muscles and bragged about how he could make a huge impact on the CFL and would only stay with the Bombers until an NFL team called him.

I can't find the video but I saw it on TV. The guy managed to piss off a whole league without even playing a single game. lol

I know everyone uses the CFL to make it to the NFL but still, you don't say that.
