WWE releases Mason Ryan
It looks like the rumors about a fourth member of the Shield is out the window, as WWE has opted to release Mason Ryan instead. The muscular wrestler was supposed to have been called up to the main roster to join Dean Ambrose and Seth Rollins, but WWE changed their mind about splitting Roman Reigns from the stable. Ryan was signed back in 2009.
* MVP comes out and says Young vs. Roode won’t be happening. He says Young can’t make his own matches. MVP says he will have a blockbuster opponent for Young at Slammiversary. Roode comes out and he’s pissed off. They have words and Roode shoves MVP. They brawl until referees and security gets in between.
Taped Tuesday night:
* MVP comes out and brings Eric Young out. MVP puts over Young and introduces a #1 contender for Slammiversary but nobody comes out. MVP says we will find out next week but turns and lays Young out. MVP reveals himself as the new #1 contender and will see Young at Slammiversary.
* Eric Young comes out and talks about MVP turning on him last week. He says he would have granted MVP a title shot because he’s a fighting champion. EY calls MVP out for a match right now. MVP appears on the big screen and runs EY down. Cameras go backstage and MVP is brawling with Young into the arena. MVP hits a low blow and accepts the challenge for tonight.
Eric Young retained the World Heavyweight Title over MVP by disqualification. MVP beat up Young before the match. Kenny King was there and attacked Young after the DQ. MVP demanded for a restart but the referee refused. King laid out the referee. Bobby Lashley’s music hits and he looks like he’s going to attack MVP and King but spears Young. Lashley puts Young through a pair of chairs. Impact ends with MVP, Lashley and King posing over EY.
Initially, WWE was expected to give a big push to Big E Langston upon winning the Intercontinental Championship, but some things changed backstage and that never came to fruition. Since Langston has lost so much momentum over the last couple of months, WWE is seriously considering putting the IC title on the rising Wade Barrett at Extreme Rules 2014
Goldust leaving after Rhodes feud
For the last several weeks, there have been rumors floating around that Goldust was going to be leaving WWE in the near future, and the belief now is that he will be making his departure after working a feud against his brother Cody Rhodes. Seeds of dissension between the two have been planted by the writers over the last couple weeks of Monday Night Raw.
