Post All Trade Deadline Rumors Here, Feel Free To Talk About Rumors And Trades
The Rockets and Clippers have discussed a trade that would send Baron Davis to Houston for Tracy McGrady, a person close to Davis told Sporting News.
"It would be best for everyone if Baron moved on," the source said.
Ken Berger of CBSSports.com has filed a similar report on the Davis talks.
Davis signed a free agent contract with the Clippers last July for $65 million over five years.
The Nets and Blazers have been discussing a Vince Carter trade, according an Eastern Conference official.
The proposed deal now is Carter, Maurice Ager and Chris Douglas-Roberts for Raef LaFrentz, Travis Outlaw and Sergio Rodriguez.
Though a deal is not imminent, the Cleveland Cavaliers have talked to the Milwaukee Bucks about acquiring forward Richard Jefferson, two league executives said Wednesday afternoon.
Cleveland is offering the expiring contract of Wally Szczerbiak for Jefferson, who has two years and $29.2 million left on his contract.
The Bucks have also been in talks with the Portland Trail Blazers about a package that would include Jefferson for the expiring contract of Raef Lafrentz and Travis Outlaw.
Reports on Wednesday have suggested trade discussions between the Wolves and Bulls in talks regarding Kirk Hinrich being sent to Minnesota for a combination of Jason Collins, Rashad McCants, Brian Cardinal and possibly one of their extra first round picks.
When asked about the prospects that the Wolves will make a trade by the deadline, Kevin McHale told Jerry Zgoda, “Not great, probably not. But who knows.”
Nate and Rose? A Rose to Nate ally oop or Nate to Rose ally oop would be dope. The Knicks and Bulls are discussing a trade for Larry Hughes with the Knicks offering Malik Rose's expiring contract. Another player, perhaps Jerome James, would have to be sent to Chicago to make the deal work. Hughes' contract runs through the 2009-2010 season.
Nate Robinson might be included in the deal and David Lee's name has been mentioned as well. Lee's inclusion would mean Tyrus Thomas or Joakim Noah, whose game Donnie Walsh likes, would be sent to New York.
The Knick front office is split on whether to retain Lee as a restricted free-agent this summer. Some feel he has already hit his ceiling.
Sources say Jefferson and Luke Ridnour likely are headed from Milwaukee to Portland for a package including Raef LaFrentz' expiring contract and Travis Outlaw, two components that were part of a proposed Nets deal.
Although there was significant chatter around the league Wednesday afternoon that Portland was closing in on a deal for Jefferson, sources from both teams insist it isn't true. In fact, a Bucks source told ESPN.com that Milwaukee hasn't heard from the Blazers in a while.
The Blazers are still attempting to come up with a trade package for Gerald Wallace after the Bobcats turned down an preliminary Raef LaFrentz for Wallace offer earlier Wednesday.
The Bobcats are attempting to entice the Blazers to take back Nazr Mohammed or include Nicolas Batum into a deal.
this may make me happy.http://www.realgm.com/src_wiretap_archives...h_to_minnesota/
The Bulls and Timberwolves are discussing a trade that would send Kirk Hinrich for the expiring salary of Jason Collins and possibly Brian Cardinal.
Hinrich is due $9.5 million next season, $9 million in 10-11 and $8 million in 11-12.
This trade would represent a salary dump for Chicago.
bummer for my t-wolvesChad Ford: Sources close to both the Bulls and the Timberwolves told ESPN.com late Wednesday night that Kirk Hinrich trade talks had fallen apart.
Sources differ on what happened. One source insists that, with the Kings trade, Bulls GM John Paxson felt his team had made enough moves.
Chicago instead will look to move Hinrich this summer, when his trade value will be higher, the Bulls believe.
The rumored deal which would have seen Larry Hughes become a member of the New York Knicks fell apart on Wednesday, K.C. Johnson of the Chicago Tribune is reporting.
The deal was believed to involve Malik Rose and Jerome James.
After Chicago's trade with Sacramento on Wednesday, the Bulls only have 12 players. With Larry Hughes basically de-activated, the Bulls have less than this available. Hughes did not attend Wednesday's game against the Bucks.
The Nuggets and Bobcats are interested in center Jeff Foster, but the Pacers have reportedly turned down offers.
Foster, a career Pacer, signed a two-year extension before the season.
Indiana isn't interested in trading rookie Brandon Rush either.
