Carwin was up and coming then. Brock beat Carwin... I'm sure you're implying.  Amazing to think Carwin fell off the face of the Earth so quick.
 
I remember being torn back then. The MMA fan in me hated that Brock was given a golden path to the title but the WWE fan in me fucking loved it. In hindsight I get it. I actually have a ton of respect for what Brock overcame to get back into the octagon after the diverticulitis.

The gave him a shot at the title after 3 fights, if I remember correct. But like I said, I get it. The division was pretty weak. So weak that Couture had to come out of retirement and hold the belt.
