Lakers Recall Karl From D-League

The Lakers on Monday recalled guard Coby Karl from the D-Fenders of the NBA's Developmental League.
The 24-year-old Karl, who is the son of Nuggets' Coach George Karl, played in two games with the Lakers earlier this season, scoring two points.
An undrafted rookie out of Boise State, Karl played in 10 contests with the D-Fenders, averaging 18.3 points, 5.8 rebounds and 4.5 assists.
The Utah Jazz today sent 7-1 288 pound center Kyrylo Fesenko to their NBA Development League affiliate Utah Flash. This is the 25th overall league assignment this season and it's the third time Fesenko will be joining the Flash this year.
While with the Jazz this season, the native of Ukraine played seven games and averaged 1.4 points, 3.3 rebounds and 0.4 blocks in 9.1 minutes of action per game. His best game for the Jazz was his first-ever NBA regular season game, against the Los Angeles Lakers on Nov. 30. In a 24-point win Fesenko played a season-high 17 minutes, scored six points on three of five shooting from the field and grabbed seven rebounds.
During his two stints with the Flash, Fesenko played a total of six games and posted averages of 16.3 points, 7.2 rebounds and a league-leading 2.7 blocked shots in 29.8 minutes of action. He also shot .625 from the field, good for fifth best in the D-League.
Sammy Mejia of the Fort Wayne Mad Ants was today named D-League.com Performer of the Week for games played during the week of Dec. 24. In three games this week, Mejia averaged 31.7 points, 7.6 rebounds, and 3.1 assists while shooting 32-of-56 (.571) from the field and 28-of-35 (.800) from the free throw line.
Selected 57th overall by the Detroit Pistons in the 2007 NBA Draft, Mejia scored 41 points, grabbed eight rebounds, dished out three assists and collected three blocks against the Rio Grande Valley Vipers on Friday, Dec. 28. In two other games for the Mad Ants this week, Mejia scored 26 and 28 points, respectively.
A product of DePaul University, the 6-6 guard played his first game for the Mad Ants on Dec. 22 after missing the beginning of the season due to an injury. Mejia played with the Pistons in their training camp, and was one of the last players cut prior to the start of the NBA season. In four D-League games, Mejia is averaging 27.3 points and 7.3 rebounds.
Other top performers in the D-League last week included Idaho’s Randy Livingston who averaged 17.3 points and 14.0 assists in three games, including a D-League record 22 assists on Wednesday, Dec. 26; Iowa’s Dwayne Mitchell, who averaged 24.0 points, 7.0 rebounds and 5.0 assists in three games for the Energy; DJ Strawberry, who averaged 32.0 points in two games on assignment with Albuquerque from the Phoenix Suns ; Rio Grande Valley’s Kenny Taylor, who finished the week averaging 30.0 points while netting ten three-point field goals in two games for the Vipers; and C.J. Watson, who averaged 31.0 points, 4.5 rebounds and 6.0 assists in two games for Rio Grande Valley.
Some probably do, but the talent isn't even close to the NBA level, so its easier for some guys to score.seems like everyone scores in bunches in the D-League....does anyone play defense?

Ager (6-5, 202) is being recalled for the first time this season after recently being assigned to Tulsa on December 16. He has played in 8 games for the 66ers and averaged 17.4 points and 2.3 assists in 33.4 minutes per game.
Ager, who was drafted by Dallas with the 28th pick in the 2006 NBA Draft, has played in 7 games for the Mavericks this season and holds averages of 2.1 points and 0.6 rebounds. He is scheduled to meet the team in Minnesota today for the Mavericks game against the Timberwolves on Sunday, Jan. 6.

January 7, 2008 – The Chicago Bulls announced today that the team has recalled rookie forward Demetris Nichols from the Iowa Energy of the D-League. The team also assigned rookie guard JamesOn Curry to the team’s D-League’s affiliate.
Nichols (6-8, 216), claimed by the Bulls on waivers on Dec. 7, appeared in nine games with the Energy and averaged 18.1 ppg, 4.1 rpg, 2.6 apg, 1.00 bpg in 36.9 mpg and shot .414 from the field, .333 from the arc and .800 from the line.
Prior to his arrival with the Bulls, he also spent time this season in New York and Cleveland, having appeared in three games with the Cavaliers.
Nichols was originally selected by Portland in the second round (53rd overall) of NBA Draft 2007 after a four-year standout career at Syracuse.
Curry’s assignment to Iowa marks his second stint with the Energy. In nine games with the D-League affiliate, he averaged 21.9 ppg, 5.8 apg, 3.6 rpg and 1.00 spg in 41.4 mpg. He shot .473 from the field, including .378 from three-point range, and .774 from the free throw line.
Curry was selected by Chicago in the second round (51st overall) of NBA Draft 2007 after three years at Oklahoma State.
Utah Jazz general manager Kevin O’Connor announced today that the team has recalled rookie guard Morris Almond from the Utah Flash of the NBA Development League (D-League).
Almond, a 6-6, 225-pound guard out of Rice has appeared in three games for the Jazz, playing a total of 12 scoreless minutes. Almond was selected by the Jazz in the first round (25th overall selection) of the 2007 NBA Draft.

The Detroit Pistons re-assigned rookie center Cheikh Samb to their NBA Development League affiliate, the Fort Wayne Mad Ants on Tuesday. Sabm’s re-assignment marks the 36th assignment of the season.
Samb, 7-1, 245-pounds, has appeared in two games for Detroit this season and is averaging 1.5 points, 2.0 rebounds and 1.0 blocks in 10.5 minutes per game. In six preseason games for the Pistons, Samb averaged 4.3 points, 3.8 rebounds and 1.1 blocks in 17.8 minutes.

points, as the Blue Team defeated the Red Team 117-99 in the second annual D-League All-Star Game presented by Spalding, which took place on Center Court at NBA Jam Session presented by adidas, at the Ernest N. Morial Convention Center in New Orleans.
Richardson, who was waived by the Miami Heat during training camp, and has spent time this season with the Memphis Grizzlies and San Antonio Spurs , shot 9-for-15 from the field and added four rebounds on his way to capturing MVP honors.
