 Look at LSU the last decade. They have had some pretty good teams, but havent had any better than a Danny Etling under center.Even on championship caliber teams, the QB makes a big difference. The record does matter. 

Exactly. You don't know what a bad QB is until you've had to suffer through our QBs. Bama's QBs weren't great but they were so much better than the losers we tried out.

I love watching Jalen do his thing but there’s a hunk of those 25 wins that are the product of the best defense and the best RB stable in all of college football. Credit Jalen for not turning the ball over but when you’re not throwing it more than 12 times a game...

Jalen has a ton of talent but he’s obvioualy not going to get away with winning games against top defenses if he can’t throw. Of course he can physically gun sling, but he doesn’t go thru progressions often and when he’s outside the pocket, he’s dead set on running the ball.

And speaking of Blake Sims, I remember distinctly... Bama doesn’t beat LSU that season if he isn’t able to run.
