Kris Dunn is the guy the Pelicans plan to pair with Jrue Holiday in the backcourt for the foreseeable future. Ideally they would form an elite defensive backcourt with Dunn handling the ball 60-70% of the time while both are on the court, which allows Jrue Holiday to play his more ideal combo guard role.

Skal is a pretty raw talent but the Magic's lack of need for more youth (should probably trade this pick tbh) combined with a severe lack of rim protection makes taking the "risk" here worthwhile.

Demetrius Jackson, PG Notre Dame
 
 
We believe this pick improves us in the long run and in the short run. Jackson is an explosive player that can either be the man in charge at PG, or play off the ball at the 2. With Mike Conley being a FA and reportedly with a strong chance of leaving, Jackson gives us the ability to build towards the future and take who we believe is the best guard available at this point. Jackson will allow us to play different styles of basketball, and we hope that he is able to provide us with flexibility in the backcourt.
