Barnes isn't good at creating his own shot and his handle for a wing player is terrible. I'd debate he has a high basketball IQ as well, I've probably watched him more than anybody on the board except maybe TYO but I'm also kind of biased :)
Kind of? lol

Speaking of Cleveland, the Cavs are serious about their interest in Andre Drummond and will schedule time with the Connecticut big man to have him in Cleveland and work him out. From sources in Cleveland, the Cavs are intrigued by Drummond's potential and high upside and want to hear from him what seemed to go wrong during his freshman season.
LET THIS BE TRUE

The create his own shot part?

He may not be able to get into the lane off the dribble, but he can undoubtedly create his own shot by putting the ball on the floor two or three times and get a midrange look.

I'm not trying to be a dick but I don't think anyone really feels sorry for you...
I'm not asking for your fucking sympathy.
Go watch your Magic fall the fuck apart. Or maybe you'll try to pull out some moronic stats to prove they aren't falling apart, seeing that is about all you are good for.
Or maybe pull the, "I remember when you said this back in the summer of 2008..."
Typical CC going back to the making sure you critique every comment I make on the board like it's your fucking job. You're like a fucking leach.

I'm not interested in a SF whose main game is a mid range pull up.

Mid range game is a lost art for a reason, they're the worst type of shots to take.

Another Chad Ford chat:

Jeff (Atlanta)

Hey Chad - of all the players likely to be available for the Hornets' 10th overall pick, who would be the best fit with the Gordon-Davis nucleus?
Chad Ford (1:04 PM)

We've been thinking they'd go point guard -- someone like Damian Lillard or Kendall Marshall. But I've been hearing lately that they guy they are really high on is Ohio State's Jared Sullinger. Makes some sense. Has a very developed low post game. Davis can make up for his lack of athleticism.

Tom (Australia)

Reading a lot of rumours that Barnes is the Cavalier's guy, how good do you think he can be next to Irving?
Chad Ford (1:12 PM)

We've had Barnes in our Mock to Cleveland since Lottery Night in part, because the Cavs had a strong interest in drafting Barnes last year at No. 4 and were very disappointed when he pulled out of the draft. He's a great fit because he can really shoot the basketball and he can guard his position. He won't be great until he gets a better handle, but as a No. 2 guy next to Irving ... it's an ideal fit for him.

Yoel (Israel)

Last year the Cavs surprised everyone by taking Tristan Thompson 4th. Who could be the surprise pick this year?
Chad Ford (1:35 PM)

John Henson going No. 5 to the Kings. Moe Harkless going No. 8 to the Raptors.

Rhett (Toronto)

You still have Dion Waiters going to the Raptors, Chad. But all we keep hearing up here is that the Raptors are likely to move the pick. Any idea who would be available for the 8th pick in the draft?
Chad Ford (1:15 PM)

I agree that the Raptors are looking to move the pick. They've been trying to package it with another young player like Ed Davis and a vet (Bargnani or Calderon). I think they want a big time player on the wing so that they can lure Steve Nash this summer. The guy most people in the league believe they are after via trade is Rudy Gay. If they stay at 8, they want a player who can get to the basket. Thus ... Waiters at 8.

Joe D. (DET)

What are the best/worst case scenarios for Detroit at #9?
Chad Ford (1:20 PM)

They need a long athletic big. We've had John Henson there the past few weeks because he's the only guy left on the board. But he's not ideal. Andre Drummond would be a much better fit.

Scott (Northglenn, CO)

Saw a mock with Tony Wroten going to the Nugs..com'd to poor man's Russ Westbrook...fair comparison?
Chad Ford (1:28 PM)

Wroten actually has much better floor vision. Westbrook a more explosive athlete. Neither could shoot out of college. Both have great size and are lock down defenders. I think there are a lot more questions about Wroten's maturity and leadership skills however. Rondo is frankly, another comp. Wroten has that much potential. Just a lot of teams worried about whether he can live up to it.

Jeff Teague (Atlanta Hawks)

where do you see my little brother Marquis going? Do you think he will be a better pro than me?
Chad Ford (1:41 PM)

I think he's another guy teams may be sleeping on a bit. Got better and better as the year went on. Some elite talent there ... had he stayed in school another year he's a Top 10 pick. I have him going No. 20 to Nuggets ... I'm told Suns are looking at 13. Doubt he slips past Indy at 26.

Barnes is nothing special

I'd prefer Ross, Waiters, and Lamb over him tbh. Really dislike him

Shaun Powell ‏@Powell2daPeople

Hornets will entertain offers for 10th pick if someone also agrees to take Ariza or Okafor contracts.
:kobe:

Makes some sense if the Hornets are going to try to win now, and are just looking at free agents instead.

It's going to have to be a legitimate offer, not just a salary dump.

There's a lot of belief that it's just someone trying to generate a story because he stated the Hornets should try that previously. Teams already tried to make that type of move with us and we declined, fwiw.
