At least we swept the Rays. That's a huge confidence booster.

Tigers manager Jim Leyland wants to remain with the team and return next season, but feels as though he should be fired if he's the answer to the team's struggles.

"I love it here," he said. "We have great fans, great ownership who wants to win."

Tigers owner Mike Ilitch said recently that he wanted Leyland to return next season along with general manager Dave Dombrowski.

"I have a contract for next year. I want to manage the Tigers," Leyland said. "But it is pretty simple for me. If at any point you think the coach or the manager is the problem, then you should get a different one. "

Later, he added: "I am thrilled he wants me back next year, hopefully longer. But we will see how it plays out. I never want to be the problem. If I am ever the problem, like I said, you should get somebody else. That is what I would do if I were the boss."

Well there goes our playoff chances. August 9th, 9 games back. This was the key series that we needed to win and we didnt get the job done. Carlos Beltran is playing awful batting just .195, but atleast Im glad we got rid of Alex Cora. That dude was so much garbage and Im glad we finally cut him cuz Idk how he contributed to the team. Its also nice to see our young prospects getting the opportunity to play every day, that was basically managements way of saying that they had thrown in the towel.

f the giants

if they do make the playoffs, it'll be fun watching Brian Wilson choke up a game
Lincecum is gonna break down, and that offense cant win in October

I wouldn't expect you to say anything else, hater

The Dodgers have a better team than the Giants easily and they can't even string together wins like that...

Jay Gibbons looks like Ike Davis

what a game for Jay Gibbons
remember him?

he's 4/5 with a HR and 4rbi since being called up

and cool stat

Andre Ethier reached base six times tonight - the first #Dodger to do so in a 9 inning game since Shawn Green on 5/23/2002.
that game by Green? the 4 HR game
