Hello all!
 
New to SI (came with the merge) and just wanted to introduce myself. Born n raised in Sweden, Father from Finland. Lived most of my adult life in The Netherlands and Spain, but now back in Sweden. Biiiig hockey (and NHL) fan. Liked baseball as a kid, but havent been keeping up with the game in many years. 
 
Good to see a "pure sports" forum like this. Fhak the mass-social-media "conversations" that take place on Facebook and alike. Most of them feel like farting in space. Pointless, with no warmth.

I .. guess that I'm an old fella now a days... Remember the online communities back in the 90's and earl 00's... 
When it was possible to make friends for life, from all around the world. Some of them, I still talk to on a monthly basis.
 
Today, with FB and Twitter.. This beautiful digital revolution, have become a strange "feed the ego" technology, specially with social-media and how the function and play on peoples "needs".
 
I'm a bit biting the hand that feeds me, since I work with Internet and IT since about 2000, and lately this "social bandwagon" have become a major income source.. But honestly.. Fuck it. No heart, and no soul. Just trends and ego-feeding. (Which, have become clear even to companies that want to capitalize on this market... Shit dont sell. Unless it is on the low level like "How to earn 50 grand a month from home" shajt ...

Welcome - and SI is very similar to that. Most of the active members before the merger have been posting on this site for over 5 years. A lot of friendships around here.

Left the country when I was young, been living and working out in Europe until last year when I moved back.This country really have its backsides.
Cold weather, but also many cold people..... Socialism is all good in theory, but... You get a truckload of kinda "DMV employees" working in the public sector, that don't give a fuck or lift a finger more then needed. Cold ish

There are tons of people like that in the public sector in America too though, and we aren't a socialist state
