They aren't pussifying the league by banning taunting, they are getting rid of something that has no place in sports.

What was so insulting about what Tate did?

Just curious what people think about it.

I was thinking about that Steve Smith TD when reading the article. He did it to rub it in Jenkins face because of the stuff Jenkins was saying to him, but it's still unnecessary. Scoring the TD is saying enough, on it's own, you don't need to add anything extra to rub it in. The defender(s) already have to watch you score on them, and are upset they let it happen. Doing what Golden Tate did, or even what Steve Smith did there, aren't necessary. Although, Steve Smith did it after he scored, but still, the pointing at him wasn't needed. Score your TD, celebrate, and move on.

Also, I know the article said a ton of players taunt before scoring. I don't get to see many games, other than the Lions, but I find that hard to believe. Most players I see score, on highlights, aren't doing the extra stuff before they get in the endzone.

DeSean Jackson did the Jerk into the endzone against the Giants a couple of years back.

If the NFL couldn't be dumb enough to add in anymore stupider penalties. It's not fair to the scoring team who worked hard on it and have it taken away because one of the players is being an asshole. Just fine the asshole and move on.
