According to NFL.com, starting CB for the Bills Leodis McKelvin is out for the season.

The Buffalo Bills placed starting cornerback Leodis McKelvin on season-ending injured reserve Thursday to clear roster room for running back Marshawn Lynch.

Lynch's roster spot came at the expense of McKelvin, who was deemed expendable because there wasn't a clear timetable on when he could return after he broke his leg during the first half of last Sunday's 27-7 loss to the New Orleans Saints. McKelvin, a 2008 first-round draft pick, is the seventh Bills player to be placed on injured reserve this season.

DMC out 2-4 weeks with a meniscus tear.
Running back Darren McFadden will be out two to four weeks and will undergo surgery Tuesday morning for a meniscus tear, coach Tom Cable said.

Also out will be right tackle Cornell Green will be out at least two weeks with a calf strain and could be out as long as a month.

Cable said the running back carries would be divided between Justin Fargas and Michael Bush but doesn’t have a concrete plan as to who will start or the division of carries. Options for Green’s position, Cable said, include guard/tackle Erik Pears and “working on getting Khalif Barnes” retrained.

More to come later, including Cable’s defiant confidence with regard to the Napa assault investigation and his support for quarterback JaMarcus Russell . . .

EAST RUTHERFORD, N.J. (AP)—New York Giants quarterback Eli Manning has been held out of practice so he can get treatment on his injured right foot.

Giants coach Tom Coughlin said Wednesday that Manning was making progress with the inflammation around his heel, which has been diagnosed as plantar fasciitis.

Coughlin said Manning would be evaluated day to day and his status for Sunday’s game at home against the Oakland Raiders is uncertain. Manning has said he intends to play.

Coughlin said Manning could play even if he did not practice all week.

Veteran David Carr would replace Manning if he could not play.
Manning has said that he will be ready to play against the Raiders. We just need to run the ball a little more and not put so much pressure on Manning to make plays. Thats just me.

PITTSBURGH (AP)—Steelers running back Willie Parker(notes) isn’t optimistic about playing in Detroit.

An injured left big toe kept Parker out of the Steelers’ 38-28 victory over San Diego on Sunday and Rashard Mendenhall(notes) ran for 165 yards and two touchdowns in his place.

“I’m a competitor and I want to compete and show the world what I’ve got but, at the same time, I’ve got to be smart about it,” said Parker, who ran for at least 1,200 yards every season from 2005-07. “Right now, I’m not where I need to be.”

When Parker last played in Detroit, his 75-yard touchdown run helped the Steelers beat Seattle 21-10 in the Super Bowl in February 2006.

Against the Buffalo Bills on Sunday, Cleveland Browns QB Derek Anderson managed just two pass completions for the game against an injury-depleted defense.

If that's not bad enough, his chances for improvement next week against the Pittsburgh Steelers might be taking a hit. Word from the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette is that Troy Polamalu is looking good to suit up against the Browns on Sunday, in his first game back since spraining his MCL in Week 1. As per the Post-Gazette, Polamalu was on the field prior to Sunday's game in Detroit to stretch with his teammates.

As for any official word, we'll have to wait a day. "I'll tell you on Tuesday," Steelers coach Mike Tomlin said. "I'll be glad when he plays just so you guys can stop asking me about him."

INDIANAPOLIS (AP)—Colts kicker Adam Vinatieri is out four to eight weeks after having arthroscopic surgery on his right knee and the team waived starting defensive tackle Ed Johnson(notes) on Wednesday to make room for a new kicker.

Antonio Pierce is out vs Falcons and possibly the season with herniated disc in his neck as reported by Ralph Vacciano of the Daily News on ESPN 1050 during the Giant Report.

Injury dates back to the game against the Arizona Cardinals when he suffered a stinger.

Chase Blackburn will move into the starting lineup. Bryan Kehl will be his backup.

Look for a lot of rotation at the linebacker spot between Sintim and Clark as well as Blackburn and Kehl.

Just another injury to add to the Giant defense. Just when we thought the bye couldnt have come at a better time to get healthy the injury bug strikes again.
