The NFL reportedly asked Katy Perry, Rihanna and Coldplay, their top choices to play the 2015 Super Bowl Halftime Show, if they would be willing to pay the league in order to secure one of the biggest gigs in the world, according to The Wall Street Journal.

The NFL is crazy to think an artist would pay them for the exposure. Im sure some would do it for "for free" ie a Billy Joel or someone who's established themselves in the music Industry for many of years but thats not what is entertaining to younger fans. They should be looking for the best show and willing to pay the piper to deliver a great halftime show to there fans wives... I'd love to see 30 minutes of Yeezus with guess like Rig, Jay, Bey, John Legend and or even Sir Elton John on Piano on stage than RHCP with Bruno Mars. The halftime show has been a letdown besides the hard chub I got from watch Bey shake those hips

I'd be down for Imagine Dragons. And as some of you guys said, Coldplay blows. Never understood why they were so popular.

I'd rather watch the Halftime Show than not. And I'm not watching Katy or Rihanna, because pop-concerts fucking suck. pop music today is so simplified and dumbed down to basic chord progressions that it loses its intensity on stage. concerts are supposed to have tons of intensity, especially for the Super Bowl (its a football game for god's sake).
 
rap would be fine, if it were a good artist, but the NFL would never sign off on an artist that isn't Drake/Hova/Kanye. And none of those 3 will do it. A rock/alternative/punk band is absolutely the way to go. you want to energize the crowd, not please the crowd.

In honor of the NFL's knack of not caring about what anyone thinks of their decisions but being committed to providing greatness on the field, the should have Rush do the halftime show.
