The NBA doesn't have a limited ownership in the New Orleans Hornets, the New Orleans Pelicans, Charlotte Hornets, Or whatever other team you want to be confused by.

They haven't for like four years. Clearly I'm not the one who needs to be doing the research.

And you still haven't answered the question, why does the NFL, NBA, and NCAA host their most treasured events on essentially a yearly basis?

To bring back the economy from the hurricane.....to make money for the city . Simple.

The NBA had control of New Orleans for a few months before Benson took control, and that's when the CP3 ordeal happened.

New Orleans is a much better location for ASW, and I have no bias in either way

I'm not going to waste my time with Paulius, someone who is very clearly trolling or just doesnt know what he's talking about. Talking about the storm and bringing money into the economy now more than a decade later. Has no idea that the city broke their own tourism dollar record in 2014 then broke that record last year, or that the city now has more hotel rooms, restaurants, etc than at any point pre Katrina.

I just have to say though before I leave this particularly debate, I love how this guy who is clearly so uninformed to the point that he can't even call a team by their correct name and has no idea who owns the team thinks that laughing and telling the guy that actually is informed to "do research" like that hides how big of a clown he's looked like in this debate. That makes me smile.

I'll be the first to admit that they got that game in 08 because of the storm

Does it really matter how many times it's been there? Players get a vacation, it's a desirable place to be, I'm sure they'll be happy with it.

The location doesn't change the actual events.

It wasnt a couple months . It was a solid 2 years if not more . AD is there for a reason too.

It wasn't even a year and a half the NBA "owned" the team.

And good lord, now you're starting with the conspiracy theories. You're just pushing my point further home.

I really wish research was more of a priority on this site, rather than people going on and on with false info.

Oh man youre so serious huh . Mr proffesor.

I didnt go with false info . New orleans were owned by the nba and they got the 08 and AD bc of what happened with the hurricane . You can say what you want, but its all a business, and they plan this kinda of shit, but whatever carry on

Would just make the site more enjoyable. Wouldn't have clowns like Paulius running around mouthing off false info for a couple hours.

I mean really guys, it's not hard to figure out that the NBA doesn't own the Pelicans, whether that is a majority or just partial, and it's not hard to figure out that the NBA didn't own the team for "a solid two years."

Rob you know me well enough, and have probably heard me say this numerous times, I will argue until I'm blue in the face regarding an opinion, but I absolutely can't stand when people run around mouthing off about false facts that they are either uninformed or misinformed about. It's just lazy.

This is what bothers me, the Pelicans (or Hornets at the time) won the lottery because the team was absolutely terrible that season prior and they got lucky that the ping pong balls fell their way. Not because Tom Benson bought the team and they were doing him a favor.

In this day in age the lottery isn't rigged, there is no way it could be, and I laugh at people who think it is year after year.

I've got no power man. Im not going around deleting posts because I disagree with them or things like that. You seem to be confused about what my role on this board is. Any decision ever made regarding you or any other member on this board has never been made by just me or any other single member, it's always a group discussion and the group agreeing on something.

Anyway though, I'm just saying, you've had your info wrong this entire thread, you can argue against that all you want but the proof is there for anyone to see, and all it would have taken for you to bring facts to the argument was a tiny bit of research. If you don't want to do that, fine, no sleep lost. It's just my personal opinion, but I don't get why people want to throw their hand in a pot they aren't educated on.
