NCAA Basketball Regular Season Thread

Saw the brawl in person it was crazy. It was so hard to follow what was going on. I saw Lyons and Wells throwing punches and was thinking "FUCK FUCK FUCK FUCK". Now the country knows just how heated of a rivalry this is, it's one of the most physical in all of college basketball. Both teams were talking mad shit and things got out of hand to say the least. The thing is Cincinnati really had nothing to lose by the brawl, Xavier on the other hand is going to be affected quite a bit. Our next two games against Oral Roberts and Long Beach State aren't bad but if we come in to these games not ready to play it may end too well.
Lyons and Wells are for sure going to be suspended and although I firmly believe Tu Holloway shouldn't be suspended I would not be surprised if, for whatever reason, he was. He didn't get physical with anyone. Don't get me started on UC, what a bunch of thugs. They were escorted off through the tunnel that goes through our student section, not the greatest idea.
Rumors floating around that the Cincinnati Police may look into Yancey Gates sucker punching Kenny Frease.

I have nothing against Kentucky but I would like to see the Hoosiers win. I'm kind of watching the game right now, it's on silent so I can study for finals.

My roommate is talking to his cousin who goes to UC and he said they know it was pretty much all them because their team is full of thugs and they aren't surprised that there would be a fight.

I'm not sure why either of them took to the mic unless they were ready to apologize. They both sounded dumb. Tu is better than that and what he said about thugs and gangsters probably means something to not white kids like me. They were still on the adrenaline high and were pissed off about it. What Tu said doesn't represent who he is. The actions of all the players on Xavier don't reflect who they are except maybe Mark Lyons, he's kind of a thug that has trouble controlling himself and his emotions. There is no excuse for what they did and I'm not trying to defend them. I'm just saying that from first hand experience, take what they said with a grain of salt.

It's embarrassing for them and our great university. The team will regret every mistake they made by engaging in that brawl when they get to practice on Monday. Coach Mack will work their asses til kingdom come twice a day and expect them to spend every second they aren't practicing to be studying. Coach was pissed and embarrassed himself, mainly because his kids were in the stands and he said how ashamed he was that that they saw that.

Cronin sounded like he ripped his team new ass holes. With their only good player mostly gone for the year and multiple other suspensions I'm not sure whats going to happen to their team. He made it sound like Cincinnati was a classy school... ummm yeah no

I didn't realize Gates was the one who threw the ball before it all too. Just had the ball in his hands, about to shoot and wanted to get rid of it. Figured an Xavier players face was the best option haha.

Saw the Indiana vs. Kentucky game last night. Alright Indiana uses its last timeout. So theres 5.6 seconds left and 1 free throw remaining. I would tell my player to purposely miss the free throw. Either Kentucky gets the rebound or Indiana has to get the rebound run down the court and shoot a last second jumper, AND Kentucky had a foul to give as well.....


Poor last second coaching in my opinion.

Tu explained what he said and Coach Mack said he regretted letting Lyons and Holloway speak after the game. I said before that he shouldn't have let them talk.
Tu explained it for us white people. He said that Kevin Garnett and Ray Lewis are gangsters because they play hard on the field/court as opposed to thugs who are, well, thugs.
