I mean I wouldn't consider Shump scraps. One of the best perimeter defenders in the league, and he'd be the starting SG day 1. Rubio, a lot like Shumpert, isn't a need for his team anymore and is expendable.

They're both pretty much one trick ponies. Both have shot under 40% their whole careers. It's a pretty fair swap in my eyes.

Rubio is a better defender than Shump, and Shump would not start over LaVine anyways...

Like if your argument is to trade Rubio for Shumpert to start Iman, why not just start Rubio and Dunn together? its impact is no worse

He is definitely not. He is maddeningly inconsistent, and horrible off the ball.

I have no doubt in my mind the Cavs want to move Shump. Honestly, I'd rather play Jordan McRae than Shumpert, and he makes the league minimum. Would make sense to dump shumpert's salary if possible.

Don't really want Rubio though, that seems pointless.

Do you all not remember how well he played for the Cavs in 2015? His play in the 2015 Finals?

Yes he was inconsistent last year but one year doesn't define a player, especially considering he had to deal with a lot of injuries. There is a reason Cleveland gave him 10 million dollars a year.

He averaged 3 ppg an shot 30% from the field in the finals in 2015.

Again, he makes plays on ball, he has quick hands and combined with his athleticism he does some positive things in one on one situations. Everything else he struggles with.

He deals with injuries every year. He's not a good player, and I honestly don't know why they gave him 10 million dollars per. I questioned it the day they did it.

Cavs fans want to like Shump, I get it. He is super athletic, funny hair, does some things that will wow you, and had some good moments when he first arrived.

But dude is trash. Cavs are extremely lucky they got JR Smith in that trade for Shumpert.

Obviously I was talking about his defense. He played great defense that series. Thompson shot about 30% from deep, same year he shot 44% during the season.

Agree to disagree but I think Iman Shumpert is a solid NBA player who has trade value (which he does because teams are asking about his availability).

he might have trade value, but that value isn't for a good starting PG

shumpert right now isn't too different from marcus smart rn. shumperts the better shooter, but still not a good one, and marcus has the defensive edge

shump is NOT enough for rubio. rubio is still a starter in this league and if he got on a contending team, he would make them better. hes one of the better play makers and still a seriously underrated defender. none of that is shumpert.

rubio may get dealt for a single player and a future pick down the line but whatever the package, it'll be better than just shump
