I think any one of us would be wary of getting involved in a trade for either player, the GM said. Their teams overvalue them in terms of making trades, they dont want to give them away for nothing. Theres no reason to give up significant assets for players who probably will be available next summer. That doesnt mean a deal cant get done, but it is complicated.

Both Monroe and Bledsoe are said to want deals in the range of five years and the maximum, but Bledsoe is being offered four years and $48 million. Monroe denied a report he was offered five years, $60 million by Detroit. Teams are, naturally, not eager to shell out that kind of money while also giving up players.

Teams that like Greg Monroe are clearly not in love enough to justify paying the max plus giving up assets.  That's the sum of the article.  You have to be a really good player to entice a team to sign and trade for you because a team has to want you so bad that they are willing to eliminate the challenge of having to compete on an open market for you.  Greg Monroe isn't that.  Nobody wants him as one of their top two scorers in their ideal of what their championship roster will be.  Monroe just isn't the caliber of player that warrants a sign and trade.
